03 Oct Feature Length Documentary In Production
Since April, Edwards Media has been working on a feature-length documentary with the Vietnamese American Heritage Foundation. The story has brought us to Dallas, Washington D.C., Paris and Southeast Asia.
From muay thai fights to uninhabited jungle islands, we followed our main character, Master Hoa, as he searched for the graves of the family he lost during their escape from Vietnam. We explored the ruins of refugee camps and a dozen grave sites in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand.
It was a lesson in traveling light, eating cautiously, and battling the elements, but we made it out alive with only a few scratches, a mild sunburn, and all our gear in tact. A piece advice: you can never have too much DEET, or too many Cliff Bars when traveling Southeast Asia.
There is so much to learn about this unique refugee group. We are working hard to capture their story into a film we hope you will love. With post-production underway, we’ll have more details soon.
